Keishi pearls are not only a classic but also a hot fashion trend, especially if worn with flair. But how can a girl show her pearls with style? It is how she wears it and mix-and-matches it that she can keep up with the trends.

From being demure, one can get that dramatic style by layering her pearls. She can mix a large variation of pearls that range from length and size to better judge which will work best in what she wears such as V-necklines and simple crew cut shirts. Women that are more of the adventurous type can just wear and layer them with that hint of flirtatiousness by leaving one button of the shirt or blouse unbuttoned. Wearing multiple strands of pearls is trendy and elegant at the same time. By styling one's own layers, she can unleash her creativity and personalize her look!

Girls can also have fun with colors! White is not the only color of Keishi pearls. These beautiful gems are available in other colors as well. Freshwater pearls are beautiful because they vary in color. White is the commonly associated color with pearls, but there are more colors than that. They range from black to peach, lavender to pink. Tahitian pearls are black and South Sea pearls can be golden yellow, cream colored or even silver. One has to choose the pearl that has her favorite color, or perhaps, the color of her eyes.

Teenagers will look cool in a multi-colored freshwater pearl necklace! If a teenage girl is attending an event that has a color scheme, she can put on a freshwater pearl accessory with colors that complement the motif. Pink, for example, can be worn with a peach pearl. These colors will let her exude the natural color of her skin. The whole look she will be donning will definitely be a classic and with a twist of funky style.

Most girls love the beach. And most of them believe that less is more. That's why they wear skimpy swimsuits that show more skin. But who says one cannot wear jewelry in the beach? A hot pink bikini is best matched with pink pearls or earrings. Or she can wear pearls that have contrasting colors. Either way, she can surely look elegant with colorful freshwater Keishi pearls as accessories even while out in the beach.

If a young woman is up for sophistication, she can go for a pearl lariat. Keishi Pearl lariats are "open" pearl necklaces that one can wear just like a scarf. This chic pearl style can easily transform a simple girl into a classy and refined lady.

She can also have that unique personal statement with a Keishi pearl that is not in the traditional round shape. Pearl pendants shaped like a teardrop or a stick, for instance, can give her that avant-garde look, which will make her one-of-a-kind personality glow with it.

How To Take Proper Care of Tahitian Pearls

By Diego Malingo

If you have ever set your eyes on a Tahitian pearl necklace, you will have noticed that it should be a very treasured piece of jewelry. Not only are they some of the most unique and beautiful necklaces you can buy, they can be the most expensive. With proper care, your necklace can last for various lifetimes, and makes a perfect heirloom to pass down through various generations. Read on for some suggestions on how to best care for your necklace to keep it looking beautiful forever.

Tahitian pearls run the risk of drying out, and it is important to ensure they maintain their moisture. If you store your pearls for long periods of time, make sure you store them in an enclosed area, such as a vault. Place a glass of water inside, and the moisture from the water will help to keep the pearls from drying out. If you tend to keep your pearls out in the open, be sure to wipe them down from time to time with a cloth that contains some olive oil. This will help keep your pears humid and shiny.

Certain acids and chemicals will slowly eat away at your pearls, so you have to prevent these from being in contact with your Tahitian pearls for extended periods of time. These acids and chemicals will wear away the protective nacre, diminishing the luster of your pearls. Eventually they will make their way through the pearls, until they are no longer wearable.

Your body produces two things that can damage your pearls, including your sweat and the oils on your skin. Furthermore, certain lotions and perfumes that you use can also be damaging. Therefore it is important to apply all skin products and perfumes BEFORE putting on your Tahitian pearl necklace.

When you remove your pearls after wearing them, be sure to wipe them down with a soft cloth. You can buy special cleaning solution for pearls, and you should clean your necklace with this from time to time, depending on how often you wear them. Pearls should never be cleaned with any chemical or acidic solution, such as ammonia, bleach, vinegar or glass cleaner.

Tahitian pearls are fairly soft, and they can be scratched quite easily. For this reason, your Tahitian pearls should always be stored carefully. If you keep them in a jewelry box, make sure each piece of pearl jewelry is stored in a separate felt pouch, or one made of a soft material.

If your pearls were to fall on the ground, they could easily be scratched, so you should also ensure that the string holding your necklace together is in good shape. Every one to two years, bring your necklace to a jeweler to have it re-strung, and make sure to use either silk or nylon, as these tend to be the most durable.

By following these simple instructions, your Tahitian pearls should last forever. Proper care will keep them shining with that beautiful luster that Tahitian pearls have, and you can enjoy the fact that this necklace will be enjoyed by generations to come.
